We were lucky enough to have found this wonderful place located in the small country hamlet of Venda do Duque – nestled pretty much in the heart of everything that the Alentejo has to offer.
Folklore suggests that the elite of yesteryear used to stop in Venda do Duque for a few days of rest and peace after the stresses and strains of visiting important people in Evora. We haven’t been able to discover who may have visited – but we can attest to the area’s ability to take away stress and deliver a sense of tranquillity – something difficult to find in today’s modern world.
You can find everything you may need for an enjoyable holiday with your family and friends in this idyllic setting or the space to think through the details of the next corporate venture. The local restaurants and mini-market are 5 minute’s drive away in Vimierio and there are all the large supermarkets, butchers, restaurants and other outlets within 20-30 minutes drive in Estremoz and Évora

Bedrooms
Each of our six beautifully appointed bedrooms suitable for 12 guests possibility to add 2 more. They benefit from having their own private bathroom all ensuite and good Starlink internet access.
Kitchen
Monte da Estalagem is available for self-catering holidays. There is a beautifully modern fully equipped modern kitchen with fridge/freezer, Range Master oven, dishwasher, cutlery, crockery and barbeque. Giving you a home experience.
Swimming Pool
The beautiful large swimming pool and inviting sundeck are the central point of the home. There is a great deal of space for gathering for meals, chatting, of simply passing the time in the deck-chairs as the sun gently recharges your reserves.
Lounge
The large lounge has direct access to the modern kitchen, the large dining room, and two sets of double doors; one to the pool and the other to the inner flower-filled courtyard garden.
Activities
From your base at Monte da Estalagem you can find so very many activities from hiking, fishing and cycling, walking, castles, museums, markets and just about everything you could possibly imagine.
Events
At Monte da Estalagem we are fortunate enough to be able to offer facilities for hosting, whether it’s a conference or celebration, a workshop or yoga retreat, a wedding reception or any other event where a grand hall and catering maybe required.
